The clock is ticking and time is running out...... as ArtsBeat and Group 64 make a play in just 1 day!

Do you remember what you dreamt about last night… last week… last month… last year…?

TARA’s young people’s theatre group ArtsBeat have teamed up with Group 64 from Putney Arts Theatre to create a play in a day! Yes, that’s a full performance in just 24 hours. The two groups aged 14.23 have never met before, but both are known for their dynamic and fresh performances. What will come out of this exciting collaboration? We can only wonder... About TARA ArtsBeat
Arts Beat is TARA Arts young people’s theatre scheme for ages 14 to 23 years, based at TARA Studio in Earlsfield, south London. ArtsBeat is an inclusive group of young people of culturally diverse backgrounds, which enables the exploration of different styles and forms of theatre.

TARA’s young participants in ArtsBeat have performed abridged productions of Othello, Romeo and Juliet: as well as performing in Trafalgar square for the India Now Festival.
ArtsBeat members are also involved in TARA Arts London 2012 theatre project called Sailing to Britain, which runs every summer it started in 2009 and will lead to a major performance on the River Thames by young people from across the capital in the year of the Olympics.

About Group 64
Group 64 is a vibrant Youth Theatre based in the heart of Putney. We are a non profit theatre company, dedicated to providing creative experiences where confidence, creativity and talent is nurtured from age 4 to 18.

We have regular classes, full-scale productions and many more opportunities for young people to direct, produce and get involved, not only on stage but also backstage.

Our most recent production was The Twits, this was performed by group 64 members aged 7-11. In the Spring 14+ members of Group 64 put on Chatroom and After Juliet, also directed by Group 64 members. As well as this, the 7-11s did The Jungle Book. Last year was the first of the summer showcases, which was an opportunity for every member to perform to friends and family.
